Born in Glasgow, Cordelia Oliver was a Scottish journalist, painter and art critic who went to study at The Glasgow School of Art in 1940. She married photographer, artist, and writer George Arthur Oliver and was also a contemporary of the famous Joan Eardley – who she later wrote a biography about.
