Description

Although this looks pretty terrifying, it’s actually a skeleton of a fruit bat, also known as a Megabat or a Flying Fox. Some fruit bats have been recorded with wingspans up to 1.7 m! This skeleton dates from the late 19th century, and was used to teach comparative anatomy to students at the Edinburgh Medical School.
