Description

Although this looks pretty terrifying, it’s actually a skeleton of a fruit bat, also known as a Megabat or a Flying Fox. Some fruit bats have been recorded with wingspans up to 1.7┬ám! This skeleton dates from the late 19th century, and was used to teach comparative anatomy to students at the Edinburgh Medical School.
