Curator, Louise Wilkie, discusses the newly opened exhibition ‘A Model Education’ at Surgeons’ Hall Museum.

Join University of Aberdeen Collections and Louise Wilkie for this week’s Collections Conversation.

This talk will discuss the concepts behind Surgeons’ Hall Museum’s new temporary exhibition A Model Education. The exhibition explores the historical connection between art and medicine. We’ll examine how and why anatomical illustrations and artificial anatomies flourished as anatomical dissections became increasingly important to the teaching of medicine. The exhibition brings together collections from six historical anatomical intuitions (including the University of Aberdeen) from across the UK to celebrate Surgeons’ Hall Museum’s new collaborative approach.

If you are interested in joining for a chat and a cup of tea, please email for the link to the MS Teams session.
