Dr Chris Stewart-Moffitt discusses his extensive research into the unique and enigmatic carved stone balls of Neolithic Scotland.

Join UoaCollections and Dr Chris Stewart-Moffitt as they discuss his research and work with the unique and enigmatic carved stone balls of Late Neolithic Scotland.

Chris became interested in Carved Stone Balls in 2012 and subsequently produced the first Master Database and Revised Typology for these unique and enigmatic artefacts as part of his undergraduate dissertation at the University of Leicester in 2015.  He recently completed his PhD at the University of Aberdeen and is publishing a book on his research ‘The Circular Archetype in Microcosm: The Carved Stone Balls of Late Neolithic Scotland’.
