Author Graeme Armstrong in conversation with Karyn McCluskey, Chief Executive of Community Justice Scotland.

Karyn McCluskey, Chief Executive of Community Justice Scotland and Graeme Armstrong, author of The Times best seller: The Young Team, will explore current social justice issues, their ambitions for the future and how you can help realise this vision.

This event is held in conjunction with the University’s Second Chancers exhibition. Through 18 individual stories the exhibition explores individual experience of the Community Justice system in Scotland. Sentences served in the community are more effective than sentences served in prison. Yet nearly two thirds of Scots don’t know what community justice is. The Second Chancers exhibition aims to address this issue by raising awareness of what community justice is and to build confidence in it as an effective sentencing option that reduces offending, reduces the number of victims and improves lives.  The exhibition is part of the Art Collection’s exhibitions and outreach in our year of health and wellbeing under the umbrella title ‘the Art of Wellbeing’.
