Free family programme inspired by Mary Queen of Scots!

Join The Hunterian over the October school holidays for their family programme inspired by our major exhibition The Afterlife of Mary Queen of Scots.

The exhibition explores how Mary has become such an iconic figure – a feminist totem, a nationalist symbol and an instantly recognisably Scottish romantic heroine.

The programme will include a series of family workshops presenting a child centred view of Mary, and encouraging exploration through creativity and visual storytelling.

The story of Mary is one of female self-determination, of fitting into a new culture, of making friends and finding your way in an unfamiliar life. You can find your way through the exhibition with the help of the Mary Queen of Scots activity trail. Look out for the little crown symbols to guide you.

You can even meet a real-life version of Mary! What will you ask her?
