Join the University of Edinburgh Museums for an evening of music making in celebration of Professor Sidney Newman, who was instrumental in the acquisition of the Raymond Russell Collection and the establishment of St Cecilia’s Hall as a musical instrument museum.
Marking 80 years since Newman’s appointment as Reid Professor of Music (1941-70) and 50 years since his death, the concert features music by JS Bach, Haydn, Schubert and Beethoven and will be played on instruments from the collection
