Wardlaw Museum

The Wardlaw Museum takes visitors inside the University, with four new thematic galleries on its ground breaking research and global impact, showcasing its extraordinary art, history, science and natural history collections. Complemented by an exciting programme of temporary exhibitions, interactive experiences for all ages, and a beautiful sea view from the terrace and garden, the Museum is a major new cultural space for St Andrews.

Visiting

The museum is open:

Monday to Friday from 11am to 7pm

Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 5pm.

Pre-booking is not required, but if you would like to reserve a free timed slot you can do so via Art Ticket.

Visits for schools and groups can be arranged throughout the year. To book a school or group visit, contact the learning and access department directly for information by emailing museumlearning@st-andrews.ac.uk or phone 01334 46 1699.

Research visits can be booked through the curatorial team at museumenquiries@st-andrews.ac.uk

Getting there

The Wardlaw Museum is easy to find on foot from the town centre. From the castle you can continue on along The Scores towards the golf course and we are on the right hand side. Alternatively you can walk down Butts Wynd from North Street and we are opposite the end of the lane.

Driving

You can reach St Andrews by the main roads A91, A917 and A915. There is free parking available at the North Haugh car park at the edge of St Andrews. Paid parking spaces are available in the town centre.

Public transport

St Andrews can be reached by taking the train to Leuchars and continuing on a bus to the town centre. The town is linked by several bus routes.

The Museum is fully wheelchair accessible and has a lift. Staff have received training in the use of evac chairs.

The Museum has two disabled car parking spaces.

Assistance dogs are welcome in the Wardlaw Museum.
